ABOUT THE PROGRAM
USD’s online Master of Science in Cyber Security Operations and Leadership (MS-CSOL) is designed to prepare students with a deep understanding of cyber security concepts, topics, and theories along with developing leadership skills in the field.
Our curriculum leads you through the techniques and technologies needed to confront cyber crime and effectively communicate priorities in order to lead cybersecurity operations. Graduates of the MS-CSOL program will be prepared to lead organizations in areas of cyber law, policy, digital forensics, cryptography, risk management, and cyber intelligence. With this unique blend of tactical knowledge and leadership skills, you may go on to work in both hands-on and leadership positions in cyber security.
This is a completely asynchronous course and is not lecture based. Students are expected to do independent work on their own schedule, supplemented by the resources available to them in the online classroom and weekly live sessions led by faculty. Students should expect to dedicate 15-18 hours weekly per course to studying, seeking out supplemental study materials and completing assignments.
While enrolled in a program at a top-tier US university, all postgraduate students should expect a rigorous curriculum and be prepared to work independently, think critically, and have a high level of accountability. By design, this level of commitment will prepare students to excel in the modern-day workplace, which relies on independence and virtual connection.
