University of San Diego to Extend Global Presence with GIFT City Gandhinagar Campus

University of San Diego to open a dynamic campus in GIFT City, Gandhinagar, led by visionary Dr. Chell Roberts, signaling a commitment to accessible and innovative education.     


Dr. Chell A. Roberts, PhD, the dynamic founding dean of the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering at the University of San Diego, shared exciting news during his visit to the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 – a new campus is on the horizon in GIFT City, Gandhinagar. 

The University is gearing up to sign MOUs with IIT Gandhinagar and other institutions, paving the way for dual-degree programs and online courses in artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity starting this April. Dr. Roberts, known for his innovative leadership, aims to offer a diverse range of top-quality education options. 

Confident in the success of these initiatives, the University plans to establish an office in Gujarat, complete with an experience center, and explore additional locations in the state. Dr. Roberts, who previously served as the executive dean at Arizona State University, is recognized for designing exemplary curricular programs, including the acclaimed iProjects program. 

During his India visit, Dr. Roberts took the time to meet the dedicated team supporting online programs in Noida, emphasizing the University's commitment to leveraging technology for education. This strategic move aligns with the University's mission to provide accessible, top-tier education to a broader audience, marking a significant step in the expansion of the University's global presence.
